Making custom fields even better

Custom fields allow you to track almost any kind of data at the MICRO level. For example, contact sources, communication categories or parcel types. Today we are introducing a way to apply custom fields at a MACRO level. If you track a lot of data in EL, you often need to apply a custom field to a subset of those data, not just one entity. For example, maybe you want to assign all the contacts that attended your recent public meeting to a new or existing category. Now you can do this by searching for your data and selecting “Assign custom field” in the Actions menu. This tool is available for Contacts and Communications and applies to checkbox and select box (aka dropdown) field types. One caveat, assigning checkbox data will simply add to existing data selections but assigning to select boxes will REPLACE existing data because select boxes can only have one option selected at any time.
